Cape Grace
V&A Waterfront, on its own private marina
The Waterfront's original grande dame, with a marina berth of its own and a pool that looks straight out over the boats. Book it for a client who wants five star and zero surprises.

A shoot without downtime empties a crew fast, and an empty crew makes flat footage. The crews and the locations speak for themselves, our repeat clients are proof of that. This is everything else, where to eat, shop, stay, and drive once the day wraps.
withmilk.tv, for when you need more than a dinner reservation →
Constantia, Cape Town's own wine valley, sits under twenty minutes from the city centre. Beau Constantia for the view over the whole valley, Constantia Glen for the long lunch you didn't plan on having.
Our recommendation each. We did the arguing so you don't have to.

Gardens · a Belmond Hotel, since 1899
Ask any local producer where the deals actually get made and they'll point you to the Planet Bar veranda, Cape Town's own miniature Cannes, where competing crews end up at the same table comparing wrap dates and swapping war stories over sundowners. High tea by day, industry gossip by night.

V&A Waterfront, on its own private marina

Camps Bay, four acres of nature reserve
Five pools, a spa, and a padel court for the rare day someone actually gets to rest. Not walking distance to the strip, and that is the entire point.

Camps Bay, facing the Twelve Apostles
Seventeen rooms, most with a private balcony or plunge pool aimed straight at the mountains. Small enough that the whole crew notices when someone gets upgraded.

Self drive, departs Cape Town Central
Forget the shuttle. A self drive AC Cobra, 5.7 litres, racing stripes, a growl that turns heads on Chapman's Peak, takes you from the Waterfront to Cape Point and back. Book the Dream Ride if you can justify it to the line producer.

Lion's Head or Signal Hill, weather permitting
Fifteen minutes of tandem flight with the Atlantic and the whole city laid out beneath you. Book the morning slot. The wind has other plans by afternoon.

Sunrise, sunset, or the full moon climb
Ninety minutes up, chains and ladder rungs near the top, and the whole city laid out below at the summit. Everyone in Cape Town has the same idea for sunrise, so start early.

The mountain's original route, straight up
Three hours of steep, relentless, unshaded switchbacks, and the most direct way to the top there is. Take the cable car down. Your knees will thank you.

Rhodes Drive, below Table Mountain's eastern slopes
The Boomslang canopy walk, a few hundred hectares of fynbos, and summer sunset concerts on the lawn from November to April. Pack a picnic. Everyone else will have.

Simon's Town, False Bay
A colony of African penguins that will not move for you, boardwalks down to the sand, and a swim spot they happen to share. Go early, before the tour buses do.

Cape Point Nature Reserve
Cliffs, a working lighthouse, and a funicular up if the climb doesn't appeal. Pair it with the AC Cobra drive and the whole peninsula is covered in a day.

One harbour road, no chain stores
Art at Kalk Bay Modern and vintage film posters at the Trading Post next door; fashion at Oh So BoHO and Moon Clothing; a pastry from Dalebrook Deli to eat while you decide what won't fit in your luggage.

Gardens
A Victorian house turned restaurant and garden bar, and by far the trendiest table in town. Good luck booking it yourself. Come with us and it's not a problem.

City Centre · multiple locations
Truth for the steampunk theatre and a shot that earned it "world's best coffee shop." Rosetta if you just want the best cup in the city, no theatre required.

Hof Street, Gardens · family run since the early sixties
Dark panelled walls, a portrait of Lord Nelson watching over the room, and a steak locals still call the best in Cape Town. Still run by the same family, order it exactly how you like it, they've heard every version.

Constantia Neck, on the wine estate
A four course tasting menu from chef Ivor Jones, ex Test Kitchen, served in a glass room that seems to hang over the vineyards. Playful, a little Asian leaning, and worth the drive out to Constantia on its own.

Sea Point
Modern Italian reimagined, an open grill, a room that fills up fast. Book ahead or plan on the bar seats.

Sea Point
Cape Town's mezcal and tequila bar. Order the birria dipping tacos and don't wear anything you like.

V&A Waterfront, Saturdays
Producer stalls, a harbour view, and better coffee than most hotels manage.

Sea Point, nightly
Twenty five kitchens on Regent Road, open late. Come hungry, leave undecided.

V&A Waterfront
Dozens of Cape Town's kitchens under one roof. Come hungry, order from everywhere, fight over the last table.

V&A Waterfront
Cape Town's best sushi, wedged into a shopping mall between a phone case kiosk and a shoe shop. There's always a queue. There's always a reason for it.

CBD, unmarked door
A password, a steampunk doorman, and a 1920s room built for thirty eight. Ask us for the password. We're not printing it here.

Wale Street, CBD
New York style toasted sandwiches and artisan donuts, entirely plant based, built to travel back to set.

CBD
Gourmet vegan since 2013. Mushroom burgers and a carbonara that fools the carnivores at the table.

Gardens & Observatory
Smoothie bowls, gourmet sandwiches, and a juice bar for the morning after Una Más. Entirely plant based and cool enough that nobody at the table will ask.

Tankwa Karoo
South Africa's own Burning Man. A temporary city built on art, costume, and a strict no buying no selling policy. Bring everything you need, leave nothing behind.

Tankwa Karoo
Five days of music and wellness inside a million year old canyon, with an infinity dam standing in for a beach. Yoga at sunrise, a party bus by night.

Cape Town area
A festival built on art, music, and nature, with a different theme every year. 2026 is Soft Earth. Equal parts dance floor and workshop, run by the same people who show up to it.

Citrusdal, Olifants River
Five days of deep house, melodic techno, and everything between, with river swimming, yoga, and roughly a hundred artists across every stage. Bring a tent and low expectations of sleep.

CTICC, City Centre
The fourth biggest jazz festival on the planet and the biggest on the continent, with a free opening concert at Greenmarket Square the night before. One of the city's best weekends, full stop.
